Four Zoller brothers of germanic origin settled in the Dutchtown district of the present town of Minden, Montgomery Co., NY coming in 1771 after the Palatine settlers of 1723, but prior to 1762 when their names appeared on the muster rolls of the militia of the French-Indian war spelled Zolinger. The book starts with Jacob Zoller (b. 1697), 3rd son and one of 6 children of Hans Heinrich Zoller, who brought his family over from Switzerland.
